Module 1 Course Descriptions
MOD-1-1. Nutrition 101 – The very basics of good health begins and ends with proper nutrition. One cannot have optimum heath without the knowledge of how our body uses our food, breaks it down with the help of enzymes, and disperses the bits and pieces to our bones, nerves, muscles, organs and cells. Many of our chronic diseases can be prevented by consuming the right nutrients in their proper forms and amounts, however, too much of some may, in fact, be harmful. However, there is a lot more we need to know. This course will provide a solid foundation in nutrition and educate on how to attain a well-tuned body and mind.
MOD-1-2. Healing Plants of the Bible – This course will acquaint students with thirty-eight of the plants most often appearing in Scripture, the lore behind their medicinal properties, and meditations that focus on their ability to heal the spirit. An appendix offers scriptural and medicinal information on forty additional plants.
MOD-1-3. Food Borne Illnesses – This course identifies the causes, types of illnesses, and preventative measures which will aid in protecting us from becoming sick from our food. Food handling, refrigeration, and proper storage of food items are also discussed. Students will be able to prevent many illnesses in themselves and others after completing this course.
MOD-1-4. History of Naturopathy – This course will be of interest to all who wish to learn about the historical roots of naturopathy, the writings of its founders on a variety of natural therapies and modalities, as well as the modern applications and validations of naturopathic techniques.
MOD-1-5. Biblical Counseling 1 – This course equips readers to change lives with Christ’s changeless truth. It builds on the foundation of the written Word and provides a gospel-centered resource for understanding people, diagnosing problems, and prescribing biblically based solutions.
