Description
GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The very basics of good health begin and ends with proper nutrition. One cannot have optimum heath without the knowledge of how our body uses our food, breaks it down with the help of enzymes, and disperses the bits and pieces to our bones, nerves, muscles, organs and cells.
Many of our chronic diseases can be prevented by consuming the right nutrients in their proper forms and amounts, however, too much of some may, in fact, be harmful. We are often told we can get all the right amounts in a “healthy” diet, because that’s all the information on nutrition many MDs receive in their AMA medical schools.
However, there is a lot more we need to know. Because our crops are often grown in nutrient-depleted soils, and our other foodstuffs have been reduced to mere representations of their original forms with over-processing or from the addition of additives, “flavorings”, and preservatives, a solid foundation in nutrition will provide us with a well-tuned body and mind. All around us, we can see the individuals who didn’t know the basics!
